Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect Test Program and Showcase 2011

London, April 12-13, 2011

Given the growing advertency of Global Interconnect, the European Advanced Networking Test Center in collaboration with Light Reading is proud to continue the Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect test and showcase program.

Since 2009, the program, supported by the MEF, has demonstrated multiple operators can be interconnected to form end-to-end services using the MEF defined External Network-Network Interface (ENNI) standard - MEF26.

This year in London, Light Reading's eleventh Ethernet event assembles hundreds of experts from the service provider, supplier and analyst communities to explore the hottest trends and paint a roadmap for where Ethernet is likely to take us in the coming decade.

Similar to the last installment of the test program, which took place at Light reading's Ethernet Expo (New York City, November 2010) successful results were presented and discussed. We are now publishing results at Light reading's Ethernet Europe (London, April 2011) covering the following areas:

  • E-Lines: Point-to-point Ethernet services with a range of service attributes
  • E-LAN: Building multipoint Ethernet services across participating operator networks (optional)
  • Mapping Classes of Service amongst providers to verify end-to-end bandwidth profiles
  • End-To-End service levels: Verification of bandwidth profile support
  • Provisioning across exchange platforms: Evaluation of processes for efficient provisioning in multi-provider environments.

Since the first event in 2009 the following service providers participated in the tests:

Abovenet, Beeline Business, Belgacom International, BSO Networks Solutions, Equinix, Expereo, Kazakhtelekom, Level3, Neterra, P & T Luxembourg, Teragate, Tinet, Ucomline (a VEGA company), XO Communications
