Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect Test Program and Showcase 2011

Light Reading's Ethernet Expo Americas

New York, November 8-9, 2011

The European Advanced Networking Test Center in collaboration with Light Reading is taking Global Interconnect to the next level. We will continue the success of the previous Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect tests where test results were presented to more than 850 professionals and 600 attendees.

The test program is an independently verified full service test of a network node / POP from the customer interface to the network handover. We want to demonstrate how multiple operators can be interconnected to form end-to-end services using the MEF ENNI standard — MEF 26. For the first time, we invite transnational enterprises to join our test program and give an insight into their requirements for Carrier Ethernet.

Similar to the last installment of the test program, which took place at Light Reading’s Ethernet Europe (London, April 2011), successful results will be presented and discussed at Light Reading’s Ethernet Expo Americas        (New York City, November 2011).

The initial proposed test topics include:

  • Methods for Reporting Performance,
  • End-to-End Performance Tests,
  • E-Lines: Point-to-point Ethernet services with a range of service attributes,
  • E-LAN: Building multipoint Ethernet services across participating operator networks,
  • Mapping Classes of Service,
  • End-To-end service levels,
  • Provisioning across exchange platforms.
