Carrier Ethernet World Congress|Interoperability Event 2009

Global, Ubiquitous, Manageable

EANTC proudly presents the results of the fifth annual Carrier Ethernet Interoperability Test Event between 24 vendors at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in Berlin, Germany, September 22-24, 2009.

In August EANTC hosted over 60 engineers from the 24 vendors for two weeks of interoperability testing focusing on three major Carrier Ethernet topics: Mobile Backhaul, Global Interconnect, and Managed Ethernet Services.  Mobile Backhaul testing included synchronizing packet based solutions using IEEE 1588-2008 and Synchronous Ethernet while Managed Ethernet Services covered both interoperable management systems and Ethernet OAM protocols such as EFM and CFM.  Global Interconnect tests consisted of stitching MPLS networks using MPLS and Ethernet technologies, and adding end-to-end resiliency. Additionally MPLS, MPLS-TP, and PBB-TE were tested for both transport capabilities and advanced mechanisms.

The following vendors are participating in the event: Agilent Technologies, Albis Technologies, Alcatel-Lucent, Calnex Solutions, Ceragon Networks, Ciena, Cisco Systems, ECI Telecom, Ericsson, Ethos Networks, Harris Stratex Networks, Huawei TechnologiesIxia, JDSU, MRV Communication, NEC Corporation, Nokia Siemens Networks, RAD Data Communications, SIAE MICROELETTRONICA, Siklu Wireless Communications, Spirent Communications, Symmetricom, Tejas Networks, Telco Systems - a BATM Company

EANTC is releasing white papers reporting the results at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress and CEW APAC. Previous white papers have proven to be pioneering documents in the telecommunications industry.
